Undergraduate Research

What We Provide

We offer several scholarships to highly qualified and motivated students in ocean sciences or related fields, to study in Kiel, Germany or in Halifax, Canada, for 4-6 months. Successful candidates will receive scholarships of up to $7,000, based on the student’s travel, research and accommodation needs.

Who We Select

Students with:

  • A minimum GPA of 3.5

  • Research that aligns with TOSST-HOSST’s transatlantic themes of ecosystem hotspots; seafloor structures; or ocean dynamics

How to Apply

  • 1 page letter of motivation specifically as it relates to TOSST

  • 1 letter of recommendation from an academic referee

  • Unofficial transcripts

  • Resume or Curriculum Vitae
